Miami Dolphins head coach confident QB Tua Tagovailoa will play again this season

Since joining the NFL in 2020, Tagovailoa, 26, has experienced several concussions. He has been placed on injured reserve for the past four weeks due to another concussion he sustained earlier this season.

Though quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins has only been in the NFL for over a month, head coach Mike McDaniel is optimistic that his signal caller will return to action this season.
In a statement to the media on Monday, McDaniel stated, “I do anticipate seeing him play football in 2024.” ” But we’ll let the process continue there since there’s still time before he can even consider anything. This week, we’ll see whether he is conscientious, and then we’ll assess.”

Tua Tagovailoa  (26), who entered the league in 2020, has sustained concussions. After spending the previous four weeks on injured reserve, he was hit with another on September 12 during his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Given his most recent concussion, many have questioned if Tua Tagovailoa would ever play again, even though he can’t play until the Dolphins’ game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 27. McDaniel said he hasn’t given it any consideration.

Even though Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has only been in the league for just more than a month, head coach Mike McDaniel is hopeful that his signal caller will play again this season.
In a statement to the media on Monday, McDaniel stated, “I do anticipate seeing him play football in 2024.”” But we’ll let the process continue there since there’s still time before he can even consider anything.

 Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa (26), who entered the league in 2020, has had concussions. After spending the previous four weeks on injured reserve, he was hit with yet another on September 12 during his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

Some wondered if Tagovailoa would ever be able to suit up again after his most recent injury, though it must be noted he is ineligible until Week 8 against the Cardinals. McDaniel says he has no idea and he has not paid any attention.

‘The transition from him getting hurt to immediately becoming ‘alright, what’s the best thing for you, Tua, where are you at,’ and then letting the process take its course,” said McDaniel. For this reason, I never really allocated adequate time to consider the possibility that he would [come back]. I had a lot of concerns about him and his family and employment.”

The 2022 Dolphins managed to essentially conclude Tua Tagovailoa season after suffering from several concussions. But in this case, it does not look like the team plans to do that again, as McDaniel once again emphasized that Tagovailoa’s health will always come first.

He iterated this more positively, saying, It is exciting that I do believe he’ll play football this year. I never asked whether he would or wouldn’t [return], simply because I figured out through trial and error that that is not the right question one should be asking. The right questions are complete, 100% toward the human being and the player, I think.
